FOR A MAJOR UTILITY COMPANY
Contracted to provide onsite Project Management, Applications
Development, Business Process Documentation, Information Security Audit, and IT Infrastructure
Planning and Support along with implementation services for diverse
Information Technology projects. A description of selected services to
date is outlined below:
Applications Development-Customer Information System
Conversion
DataFlow Systems provided project management,
applications development, data validation and correction, and conversion
requirements specification. In preparation for deregulation, the utility
company needed an experienced team to examine, audit, correct, and
securely prepare their data for conversion. DataFlow provided senior project
management, senior application developers, senior database and security analysts, and
an experienced data auditor that formed the conversion team.
Our developers wrote programs and queries to identify deficiencies in
the current database and devised methods to correct and maintain the
data. Employing proven project management techniques, DataFlow Systems
was able to deliver extracted data on schedule every time. We were able
to meet milestones set by the client and keep the project on track. This
process was integral to the entire project, and enabled the client to
perform acceptance testing on the new system.
Project Management/Requirements Analysis-Financial System
Implementation
DataFlow Systems also facilitated meetings
for the Client’s executive staff, to prepare the organization for
implementing new Information Systems. Integral to the success of the
project, was our participation of core teams to evaluate, review, and
select systems which met Client’s business requirements. DataFlow
Systems developed and implemented metrics for security and performance measurements
in client’s Purchasing, Inventory Control, Facilities, and Fleet
Services departments.
IT Infrastructure Planning and Support
DataFlow
Systems facilitated Client’s executive staff in preparing the
organization to outsource its Information Technology Department.
Activities included the preparation of performance measurements and
service level agreements, facilitation of project meetings of Client’s
executive staff, to organize the management of new systems
implementation.
Business Process Documentation
DataFlow Systems
identified areas of deficiency in the client’s Information Systems and
created context, data and process flow diagrams to document and develop
business and information system requirements. Our participation on core
teams, in the selection of Financial, Work Management, Customer
Information, and Geographic Information Systems was integral to the
success of this project.
FOR A MAJOR MEDICAL SERVICES PROVIDER
DataFlow Systems has been contracted by a major medical services
provider to provide full service support for all of their locations.
This included applications development and maintenance, network
operations support and maintenance, and help desk support.
Help Desk Support DataFlow
Systems provides
network, desktop, and help desk support. We receive help desk requests,
which are prioritized, based on the severity of the problem. This is
done in the Windows NT networking and Desktop environment. We also
provide support for Microsoft Office and other Windows applications.
Desktop and help desk support is provided using on-site, remote access
and automated techniques. Additionally, we perform configuration,
maintenance, installation, and upgrades of PCs in this environment
WEB Database and Applications Development
Developed corporate Web site to provide in-depth information on the
company’s medical services. We also developed Web based applications for
them to track patient scheduling, billing, and payments received. The
patient scheduling database was developed using Microsoft SQL Server
with our dynamic database development technique. We used tools such as
Interdev, Drupal, Active Server Pages (ASP), Active X, Common
Gateway Interface (CGI) scripting, Java, XML, Flash, CSS3, HTML5, and Adobe Dreamweaver in
the development process.
Network Operations and Maintenance
Designed
Microsoft Windows NT 2000 networks for corporate and satellite offices,
which included shared resources and network services. DataFlow created
network specifications documents, created detailed network diagrams. We
manage and secure the wide area routing using Virtual Private Networking
(VPN) connections to satellite offices. Developed and manage backup and
recovery plan to secure corporate data. We also manage the local and
wide area network, which includes e-mail services using Microsoft
Outlook, backup and recovery, preventative maintenance, virus
protection, and security. We perform configuration and installation of
network equipment, and all upgrades to existing network and hardware.
FLEET SERVICES DIVISION OF A MAJOR
COMPANY
Applications Systems Design and Development
Contracted by Client to provide Applications Systems Design,
Applications Development, and Maintenance. We developed a web-enabled
database in SQL Server and provided Database Administration and
Maintenance. Additionally, we implemented a survey database and
developed and support a state of the art Web Site that provides a
gateway to many services. A description of selected services to date is
outlined below:
Database Administration
Designed, developed, and
maintain a web enabled SQL Server database, that captures detailed
information from Fleet Services customers, as to the quality of services
received for Engineering Services and Maintenance Services. The SQL
Server database which operates in a LAN environment was developed with
the special ability to allow Client’s staff to make changes, such as
adding data elements, adding new questions, creating new survey forms,
adding check boxes, and radio buttons with out programmer intervention.
This dynamic update capability has been incorporated into most of our
database products.
WEB Development and Support
DataFlow Systems
developed and support a fully functional sophisticated Intranet Web Site
for the Fleet Services Division. The site was developed using Interdev,
Front Page, Flash, HTML, DHTML, Active Server Pages, and SQL Server. It
allowed Fleet Services to present its services to its clients in a
graphical and explicit way. The site incorporates the ability to view
vehicles, access to procedures, enter or retrieve service requests, and
take customer surveys.
Training
DataFlow Systems
trained personnel in the use of, data entry, report creation and generation.
We also trained personnel in the abilities use of Microsoft Access.
